Safeguarding Overview
At Dawley Brook Primary School, we are aware that it is everybody’s responsibility to keep our community safe for those that live and learn within it. As a result, we listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us about their health, safety and wellbeing.
All school staff are trained in Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures which are inline with National Legislation and Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership Board's thresholds and operating procedures. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
All children at the school are made aware of the trusted adults they can talk to if they have any concerns.
Key Contacts are:
-
Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mr M Walters (Deputy Head Teacher)
-
Deputy Safeguarding Lead: Ms. L Maskell (Head Teacher)
-
Governor Responsible for Safeguarding: Mrs A McHenry

The procedures which we follow have been laid down by the Dudley Safeguarding Team and the school has adopted a Child Protection Policy in line with this, for the safety of all. The School Council helped Mr Walters to write a 'Child Friendly' version of this policy and presented it to the whole school during a special assembly.
Links to both versions of the policies can be found below:
